Sugar Skulls Birthday card

My boyfriends birthday just happens to fall on Day of Dead, a Holiday celebrated in Mexico  and around the world in many cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died.

My boyfriend also started a blog this month, he is a beginner artist and is challenging himself to do 30 paintings in 30 days. He needs followers, please follow him and wish him a Happy Birthday it's Nov 1st. Here is his blog. Some of his paintings are good, they all look better in person.

I made him a card with sugar skulls that wobble. I used the Rock Princess Cartridge and my E2 cricut. I made a video to show the wobble.

Watch the short video to see the wobble.

I did another one. Keep the Challenges coming.
Here was the challenge:
Melisa Alzammar said...
I would like to see an altered frame using Flower shoppe. you've inspired me to use more of my cartridges too. Melisa
Thank You Melisa and everyone go visit her blog here.

Melisa will be in the drawing for a Free Paper Doll Dress up cart. If you want to be in the drawing to click here for the original post with details.

Here is my project with a tutorial video if you are interested.

I used a clear Acrylic frame I bought at Menards for 49 cents, I also bought a slightly bigger one for 50 cents. It's so nice to find things cheaper than $1.
A Paper Mandi is in the frame, she is my baby, so I made her out of paper she was one of my first projects.

Here is a tutorial video.

Hi Melody! I have the Jubilee cart and would LOVE to see you do a project that uses the buildings on there to do a seasonal card or wall art. You can dress it up with one of the other carts you haven't used yet of your choice...ie: MS Seasonal cake art (Christmasy) or Happy Hauntings(Halloween theme). What do you think? Go for it!

Ribbon Holder made in CCR

So... I was putting some scrap paper and ribbon and other scraps away today so I could start a new project. My creative angles smacked me in the head with and idea to make a ribbon holder using the Cricut Craft Room and George and Basic Shapes. So I make a video of me putting it together after I cut it and decide to tweek it a little to make it bette, so the cut file is changed a little after I made the video.
You can download the file here for Cricut Craft Room.

Here is a link to the updated post with new video.

Challenge #3 Stand and Salute

Bellamy's Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card I made using the Hello Kitty Greeting cartridge and the Sweet Treats cartridge in the Cricut Craft Room. I put Hello Kitty and the cupcake on wobbles. I used glitter paper I got at Joanns 5 for $1. I have the Hello Kitty in a cut file for ccr and then I have the other parts of the card on one, so you could always just use the Hello Kitty by it self.

See it wobble and how I put it together.

We are expecting!

I can't wait for the new arrival, and I know what it is... we are having... a new purple cricut! Yes, that's what I said I traded one of my extra red cricuts for a purple cricut. Here is the rest of the family waiting in anticipation. I'm so excited to be having a girl cricut, yes, purple cricut is a girl, green cricut is the dad pink cricut is the mom, I never said I was not crazy, It is so much more fun to be crazy than to be "normal" and boring. I still have one more extra red cricut hiding away and will trade for any color I do not have.

I have lost all control.

Yes, another one, I have been pretty good staying away from the craft stores. Just not quite good enough. I did get some great deals, I also show you some deals coming up at Joanns. No regrets on this haul. I alao show you how I stick my cricut figure on to my E2.

Paintings

I did a few paintings yesterday and thought I would share. I used my new Birthday Cakes Cart I won from Curt Jenson's blog. Yes, I said I used the birthday cartridge in my painting. I also used Cricut Craft Room. Cricut is not just for scrapbooking you know. I actually have never scrapbooked in my life. Well, anyway I used the font to cut contact paper and put on my painting then I painted over it and pulled the letters off while the paint was still wet, with the help of my cricut tool, a spatula, now it's a pink and black spatula.

I used the Cricut Craft Room and the 12x24 mat. I also found the best cuts for contact paper are speed 3 pressure 2 and blade 4. The saying came from a picture I saw at Hobby Lobby, I thought I can make that and took a picture of it in the store. Here is the Cricut Craft Room file. Here is the Gypsy File I did this in CCR so if you download the gypsy file you made need to tweek it a little.

I painted the background on the 16x20 canvas before I applied the words.
Here is the finished painting.

Here is the second painting I did yesterday.

Cricut Craft Room Tutorials

I was asked to make a tutorial video for beginners, someone who has no experience with it at all, so I came up with a really, really long video and cut it up into separate videos so you can choose what subject you want to watch.

Part 1- Getting started, how to begin and setting up bookmarks and setting settings. Where to see all the images.

Part 2- Shape features, layers, sizing, mat placement, paper sizing and more.

Part 3- Font, welding, grouping

Part 4- Cutting with the E2 and Craft Room.
